GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG KENNEL "LEDECK"

SILVER BREEDERS MEDAL

ABOUT US

As foundation members of the German Shepherd Dog Federation of South Africa we take pride in the kennels that we have carefully built up with prime bitches out of German stock.

All our dogs are subject to the stringent GSDFSA breed controls and are regularly shown under SV judges. Some of our dogs are in training for Schutzhund.

Over the years we have bred 51 litters with very good results. We have established ourselves as reliable and honest breeders and are frequently recommended by local Veterinary surgeons.

Peter

Peter

Colin

Peter has been associated with the breed since 1947. He is a "retired" senior Breed judge and Breed Surveyor. He has chaired many National GSD activities and has represented South Africa for a number of years at WUSV meetings in Germany. Peter is well informed about the conformation and the locomotive mechanism of the German Shepherd Dog. In September 2003 Peter received the "Presidents award" for services rendered to the German Shepherd Dog.

Peter and his son in law Colin are foundation members of the German Shepherd Dog Federation of South Africa and started the Ledeck kennels in 1985. When Colin moved to Johannesburg he continued breeding under the "Ledeck" kennel name. Peter retired from operating the kennels in Port Elizabeth in 2003. Colin is supported by his wife Raymonda and his son Justin in the training and showing of dogs. Ledeck (Johannesburg) is stocked with some very good dogs including Carly vom Nordlandzwinger, Vixy of Aeroken as well as the VA 2 Quenn vom Löher Weg daughter Adisha von Portaner. Kinky of Ledeck is one of our brood bitches and hails from the original bitches line of Ledeck. And so the story continues with Peter's son Clayton training Peter's new dog Aaron of Ledeck in Port Elizabeth. Clayton who joined the sport in 2009 is also being trained up as a "Helper".

Minko

The soldier who sold "Minko" to Peter's parents in November of 1947 was never to know that this dog would be the start of Peter's on going interest in the German Shepherd Dog. This was one of the toughest dogs Peter ever owned. He was eventually put to rest in March 1955 at the age of 11 years.
